Glimpses
FinCOM conducted a grand competition for the freshers on 25th July 2019 wherein around 400 people participated. The competition was extremely well-planned thanks to the month-long efforts put in by the 3 coordinators of the club- Ashwin, Shreyas, Yogesh. The freshers (BTech, MTech, and MSc), the seniors and all the mentors of ISMP appreciated the competition greatly and were enthralled by the club.
The competition was based on the real-life crisis situation which Boeing faced when 2 of its most magnificent planes: 737 Max 8 crashed within 4 months leading to an immediate grounding of all the 737 Maxs in the world. The event required each team to act as the directorial panel of Boeing and take the right decisions for these situations.
In this process they released 3 press statements (on Facebook page of FinCom) and developed 2 solid plans of action. Towards the end of the game, they had to analyze the variation in the stocks’ market price of Boeing and find out the loss eventually suffered by the company in a very interesting manner!
